XIN CHAO :)
the above means hello in vietnamese.the whole trip was enjoyable. with one or two setbacks. allow me to talk okie. so be prepared for a long long post.
day 1: 1oct.flight was delayed twice. i nearly died in airport. i called mum and marie that im leaving at the free phone booth before the gate, and then next minute, the plane notice said delayed for another hour plus. the airline or airport gave us free food ;) every boarding pass could buy anything worth $8.50. yeps. so got myself a snapple and a tuna sandwich. finally managed to board the plane at 4 plus (plane was orginally to take off at 230pm) and reach ho chi minh city :) customs was alright and the collection of bags was smooth. boarded the tour bus and noticed the bustling city of MOTORBIKES. it was like ants you know. WOW! jam jam all the way. reached our hotel, checked in and rested for a while before dinner. dinner was on a cruise! so cool. had fire dancing show too. a transveite with big boobs performed! HAHAHAha
day 2: went to a university. shared both sides of presentation. games and all. lunched. had some water puppet show; not very interesting becos it was in vietnamese and we obviously couldnt understand. cyclo tour was interesting!!! its like a trishaw but the cyclist is behind. so im facing the traffic first. and it was scary! the motorists dont stop for you or whether is it red light. they just move. in and out. i was like AHHh everytime a motorist comes so close to me. yikes. war museum was next.
day 3: sight seeing daywent to a 4 in 1 temple. taoism, catholic, confusium, islam. a very long bus ride indeed. 3.5 hours. HAHAAHha. then went to this place called cu chi tunnel. we had the chance to crawl through like how the vietnamese did during the war against the americans. and i must say they are really innovative to make simple tools like nail traps just to kill the americans. there's like door trap where its held up at the ceiling and if a wrong person enters. BYEBYE. guess you know what will happen next. and the tunnel is said to have been enlarged twice! and i could hardly walk in it. duck walk was the way to go for it. hahaha which soiled my jeans since it rained.amazing! such small people then. night shopping ;)
day 4:a visit to VSIP(vietnam singapore industrial park). lunch was vietnamese buffet. CHOCOLATE FACTORY WAS NEXT ;) hahahahhahaa. and its a house! 2 storied house. strange huh. orphange visit was next. and then dinner. night shopping again :)
day 5:the highlight of the trip! a two hour drive to mekong delta. and then we sat on a boat, to go to some island where i saw how people make coconut candy! the labourers there seemed like human machine. zoom zoom zoom! done. then walked over to a bee farm where we tasted some honey. its so sweet! not like the ones we can find in spore though. tried banana wine, awfully bitter. friend sabotaged me and made me down one shot. poof! tried holy water next and my friends and i down one shot. tasted exactly like vodka. nice. hmm. after that we just continued walking. to another part where vietnamese ladies and children sang to us their folktale song and a "if you're happy and you know it clap your hands" adorable children! next up was the sampan ride. 4 people in one sampan and two vietnamese will row the boat along mekong river. a exciting experience. day and night shopping. BWAHAHHAHAA.
day 6:HOMED, SINGAPORE :)
ps. i missed everyone :)
